Description:
There are two almost identical versions of this "Bubble Lion": one wind-up and one battery-operated. This is the wind-up one (also called a "clockwork" lion), and it is made by the Modern Toy Company, Japan. A wind-up key and on/off switch on the back run the lion's bubble-blowing action. The stand is tin lithograph.
The action includes the lion "roaring" and turning his head, the dipper going in and out of his mouth, and bubbles blowing.
The lion pictured has a missing tail and eye.
